16 years old, told my parents I was off to a friend’s house to study for my GCSE’s.
Instead I went to the hottest gig I’ve ever been to, and had my tiny mind blown with psychedelic wonder.
It without a doubt opened a door for me musically.
Sonic introduced Rollercoaster by saying “this is where we’re from” (or similar), and it took me 2 years to find a copy of ‘The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators’. Oh, pre-internet days!!
