I was there and memory is vague but the band were mesmerising in a fab venue round the corner from my then abode. Saw many a mind-blower at the After Dark!
I grew up in Bracknell, so this is the closest Spacemen 3 played to my home town. Not that I was there to miss it in 88 – I was living in Brighton, similarly oblivious of the times the Spacemen played only a little way away.
Just added a review from the Evening Post that I hope jogs a few memories.
(When I was a teenager in Bracknell, I had a paper round delivering the Evening Post.)
